Evaluate Websites Using the CRAAP Test

By scoring each category on a scale from 1 to 10 (1=worst, 10=best possible), you can give each site a grade on a 50 point scale.

45-50 Excellent | 40-44 Good | 35-39 Average | 30-34 Borderline | Below 30-Unacceptable

Why Should I Use a Database?

Library Database Websites
Paid for by the library for you to access for free. Some resources are free, but others you have to pay for.
Content is vetted for accuracy and authority. Information is not evaluated.  Anyone can post anything.
Information is stable. Websites can come & go and my not be updated.
You can use the subject guides on the SME library website to find databases relating specifically to your content area. An over abundance of information with no real organization.
Offer options to quickly limit or expand your search to find what you need. Search engines often return an overwhelming number of results with no quick way to narrow them down.
