You can see a map of Africa by scrolling to the bottom, selecting the regional & thematic maps tab and picking one. This could help you select the contiguous (touching) countries you want to visit. Search for your country on the top left. Don't type it in the search bar.

Click on countries on the top right. Select your country by alpha. Start with the One Page Summary and Travel Facts first. On the Travel Facts page, click on the US Dept. of State link (bottom of 1st paragraph) to see travel advisory. Scroll down for more in-depth information.

Should take you to the travel page, but if not - click Travel, then Destinations.
Lonely Planet
Excellent resource for descriptions of specific tourist sites, restaurants, shopping etc.
Put your country in the search bar on the left and select it when it appears in the dropdown screen.
Scroll to the bottom and if there is a subtopic, Expert Guidance, look at those ideas.
U.S. Department of State
Click on Learn About Your Destination, gray tabs.
Scroll down a bit to the search bar and type in country. This site tells you the safety level of traveling to each country.

Scroll toward middle and click on Access Databases tile. Filter to select the best databases, or find them with alpha.
