District Resources

Tech support is available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.  The district’s Web Help Desk ticketing system is available at https://support.smsd.org or call (913)993-8880. ICT encourages using the ticketing system as much as possible as phone support is more limited.

Can't Connect to the Internet?

Try these solutions first:

1. Shut the laptop down

2. Make sure you are on the latest operating system - Go to the Apple on the top left, About this Mac, currently on Big Sur

3. Check that your date and time is correct in the top left. If it isn't, that could be the problem. Follow these steps or watch the video below:

  • Go to System Preferences
  • Click on the Date & Time icon on the bottom row
  • Uncheck the box on the top left - set date & time...
  • Change the date and time - you can type it in to make it easier
  • Click Save at the bottom right
  • Recheck the box on the top left
  • Shut down your laptop
  • Should connect to internet

MacBook Not Working?

A district analyst is in our building from 7-10:30 a.m. M-F. After that, Mrs. Fales will try to help.

Follow these steps to speed up the process:

Option 1 (the best):

  • Fill out a Heat Ticket.
  • Put the Heat Ticket #, your name and the issue on a piece of paper on your MacBook
  • Stop by the library and drop off your MacBook or get if fixed if it's quick

Option 2 (if you don't have WIfi)

  • Have someone else fill out a Heat TIcket or come to the library and Mrs. Fales can do it
  • Put the Heat Ticket #, your name and the issue on a piece of paper on your MacBook
  • Depending on the issue, you might have to leave the laptop

Option 3

  • Come to the library and we'll see if we can help out.
